PARRISH CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

I am constructing a new website which will be published in the next couple of weeks.

However at this moment there is a need to alert anyone with relatives in the Parrish Cemetery.

There is supposed to the annual meeting in September. You will have to call either James “Mike” Buice or his wife Lynn for the actual date of the annual meeting. I would encourage all interested persons to contact Mr. or Mrs. Buice for that information.

I would also encourage all interested parties to quickly pay their annual dues of $50.00 to the Parrish Cemetery Association, Box 308, Parrish, Fl. 34219. Mike and Lynn have been the only registered officers of the Association for the past three of so years. All of the previous “Directors” have disappeared into the woodwork, now that they were successful in the takeover of the Association. Unlike the previous 40 years, only dues-paying-members may vote.

With all of the development taking place in Parrish, Cemetery road is an attractive asset to those who would will profit from increased development Parrish.

My own personal feeling is that a main thoroughfare including sidewalks and bicycle lanes would be a severe distraction from the quiet solitude of the existing Parrish Cemetery. It would also require the disinterment of the residents of several of the current gravesites.

On the other hand some may find it attractive for Parrish Cemetery to become like the Bradenton Cemetery at the end of Manatee Ave, or along Ninth Avenue at 4th St W., in Bradenton. Did I mention that Pat Neal is one of his directors.

Either way I suspect there will be a vote to transfer the Association to “homeless ben” and his gang who are directors of the “Parrish Foundation” (no members, just Directors) at the next meeting. Homeless and his gang will then do pretty much whatever they want to do.

Like when Homeless took over the Old School House and promised to use it for a community center. Instead he is renting it out and uses the proceeds to promote his vision of “Parrish”. Homeless will do the same for the Association property. Who knows what vision Homeless has for the Parrish Cemetery? Homeless came here a little over twenty years ago praising the local families of the hometown residents and their history. No one ever thought to ask him why; he did not go back to his hometown and preserve their history. Typical charlatans.

So this may very well be the last opportunity to keep the Parrish Cemetery as it is, as opposed to the homeless vision of two traffic lanes, sidewalks and bike path.

These are the same people who promosed to keep the skies dark in Parrish. I don’t think there is any dark space in Parrish.

You must be a dues paying member to vote. Lots of People need to show up and offer to take this burden off of the Buices. I have paid my dues and am ready, willing and able to serve as an Officer of the Parrish Cemetery. So any excuses that there was no interest from the community to help run the Association and that the Foundation was the only alternative; would be a lie. However lying has never been any more than the slightest inconvenience for this gang

I still have not received a receipt for my membership fee; nor the time and date of the annual meeting. So if you find out I would appreciate it if you gave me the information. 1ParrishCemetery@gmail.com
